It is inevitable that throughout our lives we will all experience our fair share of stresses, strains and difficult situations. For most of us, recovery from these events will be a natural process which occurs over time, without the need for further help. For others however, certain traumatic and frightening events can trigger a reaction which can last for a period of months, or even years.
Many people suffering from trauma find that hypnotherapy is beneficial. There are various approaches a practitioner may use and in order to determine which is the most suitable for you, we will first perform an assessment of your personal circumstances and needs, and discuss any decisions regarding the potential approaches that can be adopted before we start working together. The aim is to work with your unconscious mind to achieve your goals and overcome trauma.
Some clients feel the need to explore and alleviate the negative beliefs that were built up during the trauma. Other clients prefer to focus exclusively on learning coping skills and resilience, learning how to be ok and in control of their emotions in the present moment – one moment at a time. How you decide to move forward is entirely up to you.
