What you should know about our annual Preventive Maintenance Program (PMP)

 When you install a new residential garage door, you expect it to work efficiently, safely and as long as possible. It is no secret how you can achieve this: your garage door system must be manufactured using the best materials, be installed by qualified technicians and be regularly inspected.

It is also important to service your garage door with the same regularity with which you service your car. Don't forget that the garage door is the largest mobile component of your home, which is already, or will soon become, the most frequently used entrance into your house. Therefore, it is important to respect the maintenance instructions related to your new GARAGA garage door.

To do this, Automatic Door Co. offers an annual preventive maintenance program for your garage door, thus ensuring also your peace of mind.

The tune-up program takes care of the most important parts of your garage door:

  • the rollers, hinges, torsion springs and all plates will be inspected, lubed and adjusted
  • the extension springs will be inspected, adjusted and balanced (Please remember to follow Garaga's recommendation to install security cables with extension springs)
  • the nuts and bolts will be inspected and tighten
  • the lifting cables will be inspected and adjusted
  • tracks' alignment and wall attachment will be inspected and adjusted
  • weatherstripping around the exterior frame and door bottom will be inspected and lubed
  • the electrical components of the door opener (including the trolley) will be inspected and adjusted
  • the entire security systems (mechanical or photoelectrical) will be tested and adjusted
  • the remote controls and door opener accessories will be inspected and tuned

Make sure you address these aspects before winter or every 18 months, same as you service your car before winter comes.
